Born and raised in Charlotte, NC, I moved to the "big city" of Los Angeles in 2002 to attend UCLA's school of Theater Film & Television. From there, I entered the world of independent music, fronting a local band and then striking out on my own as a singer/songwriter. During these years I taught myself a lot about recording, photography, graphic design, web design, social media, and event coordination and promotion - everything it takes to get a local audience. Amidst the turmoil of the 08' recession I was accepted to pursue my Masters in Business Administration at the University of Southern California. There, I further honed my understanding of branding, business communication, and digital marketing, which I ultimately decided to apply to my own entrepreneurial work as a songwriter (Bravo TV), voice actor (McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, LEGO), and event planner for my own company, Motherbird (2018-2021) which curated local parent community events in collaboration with national brands and local businesses and influencers.

 

Flash forward to our post-pandemic life where I've found myself being called upon and referred between peers (looking for freelance help with their local campaigns, community events, and small businesses) to offer my scrappy jane-of-all-trades bundle of skills in helping get their "big plans" set up efficiently and affordably. The name "Local Shine Media" is meant to reflect my mission, to help others gain the local attention, engagement, and connection they need to succeed.
